Padrino's Cuban Cuisine: Better Business, Systems & Culture Skills Elevates Mom & Pop Café to Multi-Unit Success
Mario Padrino's 40-year restaurant career started by working for his parents. Like many family owned restaurants, Padrino's began as a typical little mom and pop cafe serving 100 percent Cuban food to a mostly Cuban based market. The recipes are authentic Cuban, created from family recipes and include dishes like ropa vieja, black beans, yellow rice, picadillo, and of course - roast pork.

Padrino's journey from mom and pop café to the 5 units and 160 employees they now employ, with more units slated to open every year, is a success story rich with lessons learned on how to turn a pretty good family restaurant into a really great and growing business success.
In this story, we'll show you how the Padrino family made a commitment to positive change by improving their business, systems and culture skills, resulting in a passing of the baton from one generation to the next, and more profitable restaurants.
