2020 Communication Survey

RestaurantOwner.com surveyed independent restaurant operators and asked how they communicated with their managers and staff.

Over 250 responses were collected in the first quarter of 2020. We carefully screened the responses to provide the most reliable and valid results and summaries.

Restaurant owners provided 75% of the answers, with the remaining 25% of responses coming from managers and general managers. 57% of these operators only had one location, 26% had 2 or 3 locations and 17% had 4 or more locations.

These analyzed responses are intended to provide an overview of restaurant communication practices between owners, managers and staff, focusing on pre-shift meetings, and identifying the most effective communication methods.
