Chris Tripoli has over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry as an owner/operator and advisor to hundreds of restaurants throughout the U.S. Chris contributes to various trade publications and is frequently featured as a guest speaker/panelist at restaurant association trade shows and conferences.
In the mid to late 1970's Chris assisted in developing and expanding Luther's Barbecue Restaurants headquartered in Houston, Texas. In 1981, he created and developed Fat Frank's Grub N Saloon, a casual, Western-themed restaurant chain with restaurants in Houston and Austin, Texas. In 1988, Chris opened the award-winning Nicole's Café San Felipe, a Southwestern bistro in Houston and then went on to design and develop the new food and beverage facilities at Houston's Intercontinental Airport. Before forming A'la Carte Consulting Group, he also developed Truluck's Steak and Stone Crab Restaurants in Houston, Addison, Dallas and Austin, Texas. Chris contributes to various trade publications and is frequently featured as a guest speaker/panelist at restaurant association trade shows and conferences. He authored and currently teaches a course entitled "So You Want to Open a Restaurant" for the Small Business Development Center at the University of Houston. Chris's firm, A'la Carte Consulting Group, provides a variety of services to restaurant operators including concept development, business plan development, growth strategies, operations assessment and management and staff training. His larger clients include Sonic, Arby's, Quizno's, Club Corporation of America, Le Peep Restaurants, Vallone Restaurant Group, Tortuga Mexican Restaurants and Hilton Hotels.
