How do I change my account/member information?
If you want to review your membership status, view and print transaction history, or make changes to your membership, log in and visit the "To Change Your Membership Details" page. Use this link to change your user name, address, credit card information and password. You may cancel online by signing in and visiting the "To Change Your Membership Details" section. Enter your password and proceed to the "Account Settings" section at the bottom of the page. Choose "Cancel Account" from the drop down box on the "Change Account Settings" selection.
I can't remember my password?
You can have your user information sent to your email address on file automatically by entering the email address under the LOST PASSWORD? prompt on the Member Login Area and then clicking on "Send My Login Information", or you can send us an email to info@restaurantowner.com, use your email address on file or provide your username for account verification.
I'm having trouble logging into the site?
Please double check you're following the items below:
√ Make sure the date on your computer is current.
√ Verify that cookies are enabled in Internet Explorer. For more information see the page - "Cookies Must Be Enabled". If you access the internet through a router, then you may need to enable cookies in your router settings also. Please check with your network administrator for technical support on your LAN.
√ Remember, passwords are case sensitive.
√ Once you have done all the above, reboot your computer and try again.
What's the $14.97 charge on my credit card statement for?
The $14.97 is the monthly membership fee. Terms are a $99.00 registration fee to join and $14.97 per month to continue. Cancel anytime.
Why was my account locked?
Our system automatically locks out a member for 24 hours when more than one logon is detected. While it is ok to log on from anywhere, membership only permits one logon at a time. The lock out is an automated feature hard wired in our software triggered whenever the system detects more than one IP addresses for the same username. To avoid this when changing computers be sure to use the manual "LOGOUT" command at the top of most screens. If you just leave the site you stay logged in without activity for 40 minutes.
The file I just downloaded is "read-only"?
Once the templates are saved to your local computer you can open them by simply clicking on the file icon in the directory where you saved the file. Microsoft Word and Excel will oftentimes treat a document as "read-only" when attempting to open the document across the Internet or from within a compressed (zipped) file. For this reason, it is always best to "save" the downloadable templates to your local hard drive before trying to open them. The templates were created in varying versions of Microsoft Word and Excel, including Microsoft 97, 2000 and 2003. You must have Microsoft Word and Excel to open the templates. Some of the files in the download area have been compressed into the .zip file format to speed downloads and reduce problems with browsers recognizing downloadable files. To use these files, you'll first have to download them onto your computer, and then unzip or extract them. If you don't have an unzip (extraction) program, we recommend Winzip, which you can download from www.download.com.
What is the password to unlock the downloaded file?
The passwords for our spreadsheets differ; however, they can usually be found on the first worksheet entitled "Instructions". The most common passwords are "ro.com" or "rrg".

The web site and magazine are two separate memberships. Members of the web site get a free subscription to Restaurant Startup & Growth magazine as part of their RestaurantOwner.com membership. If you recently paid for a subscription to the magazine, please let us know after joining and RS&G can issue a refund for the unused portion of the subscription.

It normally takes from 6-8 weeks to receive your first issue and then you will receive them monthly for as long as you're an active member. If it is past this time period please email us at info@restaurantowner.com and we will confirm your mailing address and follow up with Restaurant Startup & Growth magazine on your behalf. Can I have permission to use or reprint an article from the website?
Permission to quote articles is granted on a case by case basis. Please send a request to info@restaurantowner.com with a brief explanation about how you intend to use the article and we will respond within 24 hours.

Yes, If you prefer not to use our Secure Order Form, you can subscribe or renew your membership to RestaurantOwner.com and pay by check or money order. Here's how:
New members, make your check or money order payable to RestaurantOwner.com in the amount of $258US ($99 one-time registration and $159 annual membership fee) for a one-year membership.
Important - Include a note along with your check that includes your name, mailing address and email address. You must provide a valid email address so we can notify you as soon as your membership registration is processed.

Within 24 hours of receiving your payment, we will activate your membership and alert you by email. I'm using your Menu & Recipe Cost Template and can not unlock the Inventory Master worksheet with the password you provided?
The Menu & Recipe Cost Template consists of several worksheets, the first being the INSTRUCTIONS worksheet. Please read these instructions before proceeding. In them you'll find that all of the worksheets except the Inventory Master can be unlocked using the password, "ro.com". The Inventory Master cannot be altered or unlocked due to proprietary programming. For customization needs, we suggest that experienced Excel programmers create additional worksheets that refer to the values collected in the Inventory Master. However, all of the worksheets are fully functional and can be used to their fullest extent without unlocking them. Be advised that inadvertent formula changes may occur while unlocked, possibly rendering the worksheets inoperable; so please use caution when unlocking protected worksheets. The template is intended for independent operators that don't have extensive needs beyond the 300 item limitation. Expanding it beyond its current capacity requires line-by-line programming, an endeavor that we may entertain in the future but have no plans currently. Our suggestion would be to research software such as Chef Tec, IPro, or other food costing software package.Are your resources compatible with Apple/Mac?
Our downloads consist of Microsoft Word and Excel files, Adobe PDF files, and rich-text (rtf) files. We have several Mac users that have these programs installed and therefore are able to use the downloads. If you have these programs installed then there should not be a problem; however, if your computer doesn't have these programs then there's no guarantee that supposedly compatible programs will be able to access the downloads.
