DOWNLOAD: Record Retention Guidelines

All businesses must maintain books and records to provide back up and support for financial statements and state and federal tax returns as well as in potential legal proceedings.

The Records Retention Guidelines offers guidance by providing a suggested time frame to maintain common business records. Before finalizing your company's record retention policies, it is recommended that you consult with your CPA, attorney or other professional advisors to be certain that your policies are in accordance with IRS, state and local record retention requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: The Records Retention Guidelines retention periods should not be viewed as the final authority, but as a guide to begin creating your own record retention policies.

The Record Retention Guidelines is downloadable in MS Word file format (.doc).
